Choose one of the following options for yourfinal assignment.

Option 1:

Compose a piece or write a song incorporating the following parameters:

•    At least 16 measures long. You may use whatever time signature you want

o It must include a melody and accompaniment (or polyphony, ifyou are so inclined).

o It must use the music notation we learned this semester. If you write a song, make sure to write out the melody

•   Write out roman numerals that explain what the harmonies are doing in your composition. Make sure to indicate the inversions.

Option 2:

Analyze the musical excerpt on the next page:

•    Use roman numeral analysis, making sure to label the inversions with the appropriate figures

•    In the melody (mostly in the top staff), label all non-harmonic tones with the letter n above each.
