Mastering Gradients in Vector Graphics

1. Introduction to Gradients

Gradients are an excellent way to break away from the dull, flat look of solid - color fills. They are a key feature in vector graphics. Designers can craft highly complex and photorealistic art using only well - arranged gradients. Gradients are versatile, easy to create and edit, render quickly, and are widely supported in SVG software.

A gradient is a smooth transition between two or more colors, and color includes opacity. For example, you can create a gradient from opaque red to transparent red with semi - transparent red shades in between. SVG supports two types of gradients: linear (along a line) and elliptic (or radial, away from a center, possibly with unequal axes and a non - cen
