LiveCD和LiveDVD是用于引导和安装系统的光盘镜像，一般带桌面环境，不带软件仓库，如果要把系统安装到硬盘上则需要从网络上下载软件包。

系统安装DVD是用来安装系统到硬盘的光盘镜像，仅自带系统安装程序及软件仓库，系统安装时不需要连网，光盘中自带大量软件，光盘容量一般超过4G。

网络安装光盘是用来安装系统到硬盘的光盘镜像，仅有系统安装程序，不带软件仓库，系统安装时必须连网，光盘容量一般小于700M。

精简版安装光盘是用来安装最基本系统到硬盘的光盘镜像，带安装程序及部分基本软件仓库，系统安装时不需连网，光盘容量一般小于700M。
