get rid of the application manager popping up when cradling the device.

delete these keys from your desktop registry

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows CE Services/AppMgr]
    "SilentInstall"=dword:00000001

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows CE Services/AutoStartOnConnect]
    "CEAppMgr"="/"C://Program Files//Microsoft ActiveSync//CEAPPMGR.EXE/" /autorun"

don't ever ask if you want to partner with the cradled device

add this registry key to your device registry:

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows CE Services]
    "GuestOnly"=dword:00000001

change location in PC of ActiveSync documents folder

change to a new folder in your Windows "My Documents" directory.

look for the correct profile here:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows CE Services/Partners]
    and then drill into the key Services/Synchronization
    for example
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Microsoft/Windows CE Services/Partners/259d6f7b/Services/Synchronization]
set the value for Briefcase Path
