SaaS vs Cloud Computing (云计算)

 

现在'云计算’是炒得很多的网络流行语。

 

从技术上来看, '云计算’ 实际上就是SaaS基建技术和服务的延伸(extension of SaaS infrastructure engineering and service).

 

From the Cloud Computing requirement, the customers need:

 

-- high available and high reliable resource (platform), and *service*

 

 

The more important, the Cloud Computing resource (or platform) needs to be managed by the service provider including the HA, monitoring, etc.

 

 

 The key thing:

(1) it is a service, and High Available service provided by the vendor

The vendor needs to take care of

-- infrastruture: HA, system, network, database, data replication, virtual server, etc.

-- service: 7*24 service, monitoring, troubleshooting, etc.

 

(2) consolidated all the discreted resources around

that is the extention of above service infrastruture.
