Dreams of finding lost treasure almost came true recently. A new machine called "The Revealer" has been invented and it has been used to detect gold which has been buried in the ground. The machine was used in a cave near the seashore were -- it is said -- pirates used to hide gold. The pirates would often bury gold in the cave and then fail to collect it. Armed with the new machine, a search party went into the cave hoping to find buried treasure. The leader of the party was examine the soil near the entrance to the cave when the machine showed that there was gold under the ground. Very excited, the party dug a hole two deep. They finally found a small gold coin which was almost worthless. The party then search the whole cave thoroughly but did not find anything except an empty tin trunk. In spite of this, many people are confident that "The Revealer" may reveal something of value fairly soon.

现在寻找遗忘的财宝的梦想将要成真。一种新的机器叫“探索者”被发明出来并将用在探索地下埋藏起来的黄金。这台机器用一个靠近海岸边的一个洞穴探索上－－据说－－海盗们用它来藏金子。海盗们过去经常将金子埋藏进洞穴并且没有取出过。依靠这台新机器，一只寻宝队希望从洞穴中找到埋藏的宝藏。当领队检查洞穴门口的土壤时候，机器显示底下有金子。大家非常激动，他们挖了一个两英尺的坑。最后发现了一块看起来不值钱的小金币。接着寻宝队寻遍了整个洞穴但是没有找到任何东西，除了一个空铁皮箱子。不过没有关系，大家都坚信的是“探索者”一定能在将来找到值钱的东西。
