Team Building, English Diary 09-Dec-2009

I always joke about meals with colleagues during lunch.

Like "meaning of our job is about feeding ourself, so we should try to enjoy this meal".

 

Yes, It makes sense as long as I am still working as an employee.

I really envy people who could enjoy their jobs. At least they are happy during working hours

which occupies one thirds of their lives. I always dream of being such happy worker.

 

Yes, programming involves a lots of creativities and wisdom. it is pretty fascinating.

but it could aslo be some repeatedly boring work if you work at a particular position, work on

poor-managed projects for long enough. That is so complicated that I have not fully understood.

 

Managers would do some team building when they notice that more and more staffs get tried, and

less efficient. As I know, the most common way is to invite the whole team to banquet. maybe it is informal.

but It is good chance to have all team members communicate something besides work, to bring them

together, eliminate the psychological barriar. Maybe, beer and alcohol did lubricate the gears, get the

interact between members more smooth. The bottom line is, company pays the bill.

 

I rejected to attend the banquet raised by project manager today. After work, I came back home and jogged

I did a lot of work to support my colleagues, that is why I am paid. I don't want to make that personal. 

Acceptance of such food or wine makes me feel that way.

 

Business is business, I prefer to spare more time on living my life.
