This course begins in 2011 fall. We have a three member team and plan to do something about branch prediction. My mission is to implement PAs branch prediction scheme and the hybrid predictor of PAs and static. Although these two predictor seem to be easy,yet I am a beginner in CA and also all the software.Anyway, still a lot to learn. O(∩_∩)O~
My schedule is as below:
week1(Sep.26th-Oct. 2nd) install simplescalar
week2(Oct. 3rd - Oct. 9th) literature survey
week3(Oct. 10th - Oct.16th) simulating PAs
week4(Oct. 17th - Oct. 23rd) simulating PAs
week5(Oct. 24th - Oct. 30th) combining PAs and static
week6(Oct. 31st - Nov. 6th) combining PAs and static
week7(Nov. 7th - Nov. 13th) run bench mark SPEC 2000 see the performances of PAs and the hybrid of PAs and static
week8(Nov. 14th - Nov. 20th) run bench mark SPEC 2000 see the performances of PAs and the hybrid of PAs and static
week9(Nov. 21st - Nov. 27th) comparing the result of the performances
week10(Nov. 28th - Dec. 4th) final report
Now is the third week, however, due to kinds of reasons , I am behind schedule. Still search for the literature that can help to simulate PAs. I will try to catch up~
计算机结构,这门课是2011秋季的课程。我们有个三个人的小组,要做分支预测。我的任务是要实现PAs分支预测器,还有PAs和静态预测的混合预测器。虽然这些看着都比较简单,但是对于我们没有上过基础课,没有接触过相关软件的来说,还是很多东西要学的。
现在是第三周,不过我已经落后了。。还在查文献那里纠结。我会努力赶上的。。
该课程为2011年秋季学期的计算机结构课程,由三人组成的团队进行分支预测的研究。主要任务包括实现PAs分支预测器及PAs与静态预测器的混合预测方案。目前进度落后计划,正在进行文献调研。
