I'm having the same problem with the new 2.0. version.
When installing it with Synaptic (on a Ubuntu 8.04 host) I get the message:
"Starting VirtualBox kernel module
No suitable module for running kernel found"
Version 1.6.6. worked flawlessly.
EDIT: sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
