We are happy to announce the release of Qt Installer Framework and Qt Online Installer 4.6.0. 

我们很高兴地宣布发布Qt安装程序框架和Qt在线安装程序4.6.0。

During this spring we have put a lot of effort to improve the metadata download performance in Qt Installer. Especially, in Windows we have been able to reduce the metadata handling from dozens of seconds to a few seconds using the metadata cache. In this version, we have continued improving the performance. We have added support for skipping already cached update files, for example.  

今年春天，我们花了很多精力来提高Qt安装程序中的元数据下载性能。特别是，在Windows中，我们已经能够使用元数据缓存将元数据处理从几十秒减少到几秒。在这个版本中，我们继续改进性能。例如，我们添加了对跳过已缓存的更新文件的支持。

Users have reported quite quite many bugs about missing components or broken references, which seem to be caused ba an invalid metadata cache. We added a feature to verify the metadata integrity in the cache to automatically reset the cache if needed. This will fix most of the cache invalidity issues. Unfortunately, it has a performance effect, so after we have learnt more why the cache becomes invalid, we will remove this feature again. 

用户已经报告了相当多关于丢失组件或损坏引用的错误，这些错误似乎是由无效的元数据缓存引起的。我们添加了一个功能来验证缓存中的元数据完整性，以便在需要时自动重置缓存。这将解决大多数缓存无效问题。不幸的是，它会对性能产生影响，所以在我们了解了缓存无效的更多原因后，我们将再次删除此功能。

We have received a lot of feedback that the neon green colour scheme looks old, is not optimal to read text, and simply does not look good. We have selected less bright colours in the UI.

The 'Search' button was moved from the bottom of the component view to the top, where it is typically located in other tools. It makes it easier to find and use the button. The 'Information' and 'Categories' buttons have been moved to a horizontal layout, as it was not intuitive to use them in the vertical layout. Minor changes include input field and button borders and radio button and checkbox images. 

“搜索”按钮从组件视图的底部移动到顶部，通常在其他工具中是这样的。这样可以更容易地找到和使用按钮。“信息”和“类别”按钮已移至水平布局，因为在垂直布局中使用它们并不直观。次要更改包括输入字段和按钮边框以及单选按钮和复选框图像。

We have improved the documentation on how to get and install Qt. Now, it is easy to navigate from the Qt documentation landing page to the installation documentation.  Yet another way to get Qt in Linux is to use Debian packaging, to which you can also find a link on the main landing page.

The installation landing page contains instruction how to use Qt Online Installer GUI or command line interface to install Qt. The CLI documentation is easy to find, compared to the previous documentation locations inside the Installer Framework documentation. One of the most frequently asked CLI use cases, headless installation with the CLI, is now clearly documented with useful examples.

Where to get the IFW and the installer?

Precompiled binaries for the Installer Framework can be downloaded from Qt Online Installer, sources and binaries can be found also on the Qt Download page (open source) or in Qt Customer Portal for commercial users. The latest documentation can also be found online.

​安装程序框架的预编译二进制文件可以从Qt Online安装程序下载，源代码和二进制文件也可以在Qt下载页面（开源）或商业用户的Qt客户门户中找到。最新的文档也可以在网上找到。

The new installer is available in Qt Downloads and  Qt Customer Portal for commercial users. Maintenance Tool is updated using the existing installation(s) Maintenance Tool.
