Change is an important concept in life and there are many uses for the word.it is used often in  idioms.daily expressions and everyday conversation .In this lesson we will take a look at some interesting expressions that refer to change.

Vocabulary

climate--the typical weather conditions in a particular area

atmosphere--the mixture of gases that surround a planet

fossil fuel--the fuel such as coal(煤) and oil that is produced  by the very gradual(逐渐) decaying(衰退) of animals or plants over millions of years

destination--the place someone or something is going to 

punctual--arriving,happening,or being done at exactly the time that has been arranged

climate change

a chang in the earth's climate in particular due to increased of levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide produced by use of fossil fuels.

short-changed

To treat unfairly or dishonestly,especially by giving less than is deserved(应得的) of expected(期望的).

The taxi driver short-changed the customers by dropping them off before the destination

to suddenly change your opinion on a matter

At first my friend said that she didn't want to come to the movies,but she quickly changed her tune when i told her that Jack was coming.

change your mind has a simillar meaning,but change your tune is used in a joke or critical(批评的，爱挑剔的) way.

change hands

for something to pass from one owner to another

I didn't want to buy the second-hand laptop because i was worried about how many times it had already changed hands.

a person's  characters(性格),especislly if it is bad,will not change,even if they pretend(假装) it has changed

Jack told me he would ne more punctual this year,but i don't believe him ,a leopard can't change its spots.
