Do crytocurrency and blockchain technology make the world a better place?


Every time there is a brand-new technology comes out , the world somehow changed a little bit, whether it changes for the better or for the worse. Just like the advent of train, forced people to become more punctual for if not, they will miss the train; and the invention of electric lamps extend people’s life time into darkness.Then, how about crytocurrency and the technology behind it ? Have they make the world a better place?

 

Few hours a ago, I raise a question in a crytocurrency forum in China called “Biwen”. Actually, it’s quiet interesting to see people’s reply, for it seems that there is a sharp contrast between people’s attitude toward crytocurrency, with Bitcoin in the front and blockchain technology. What I want to notice is even in such a forum where people are at least know or want to know something about the new gadgets are not all feel optimist about the industry. Most of them appreciate the solid technical support of blockchain but feel a dim future of crytocurrency.

So do crytocurrency and blockchain make the world a better place?

Well, yes and no.

The crytocurrency debuts in front of us by offering us a bright future: with the use of crytocurrency, you has no need to worry about your money being stole during a hacking in the banking system,for it is decentralized; with the use of crytocurrency, you are able to receive your money across the board less costly and faster……

And, the advent of Bitcoin spawns a lot of altcoins which can be fit in different fields. For example, stellar lumen(xlm coin) is used in across-board transfer and Oyster Pear aims to offer to new solution in website profiting, by getting content publishers, users, website owners into a system that everyone contribute part of their “strength” and “energy”, and make the online space a better place.

The truth, the crytocurrency and the system do bring convenience to our daily life. Then with the development of the technology, things are going into a direction of creating a new Utopia where technology permeates into every aspects of our life and don’t have any scandal talking about money fraud.

But it’s also true that rather than a currency which can be an alternative to the fiat one, people view it as a speculative product. In other words, people prefer trading it and profiting from it to using it as a currency. They prefer to buy it low and sell it high.

Then the speculation scandal now about hacking due to bugs in the system somehow eclipses the good of the currency and turn it into evil.

Therefore, do crytocurrency and blockchain make the world a better place.

May be it will, but not yet, it takes long time for the crytocurrency age to come.
