CAUSE
The issue has been reproduced internally, and is particular to the combination of Microsoft Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 8.
SOLUTION
Bug 10602769 was logged to address this issue, which concluded the issue was caused by incorrect User-Agent settings.
Workaround Steps:
- When the issue appears, logoff from the application, or after a session timeout
- Clear the browser cache, and close the browser
- Re-login to the application
Permanent Solution Steps:
- Go to Site Map
- Click on Administration - Web Browser > Browsers
- Create a Browser with name: MSIE 8.0
For the browser add the following capabilities:
User-Agent = Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.
Parent = IE 8.0
Accept = image/gif, image/x-xbitmap, image/jpeg, image/pjpeg, application/vnd.ms-powerpoint, application/vnd.ms-excel, application/msword, */*
JumpTab = True
Note: Although User-Agent value looks incomplete without the closing parenthesis, this is the correct value.
